Abstract

The Ayung River in Ubud, Gianyar, is the longest river in Bali, stretching from the northern mountains to the Badung Strait. The use of this watershed threatens environmental sustainability, especially due to waste pollution. This study aims to examine the pattern of sustainable management on the banks of the Ayung River to support the development of tourism potential. The research method involves problem identification, determination of tourism potential, and PESTEL analysis strategy based on the concept of Tri Hita Karana, especially the Parahyangan element. The results of the study show that there are weaknesses and opportunities in the arrangement of access to cultural facilities as well as rules that limit tourism development so as not to damage sustainable cultural conditions. The study concludes that cultural preservation efforts related to the Parahyangan element are essential for the preservation of the Ayung River environment.
